Free Shuttle to Town Meeting
Saturday, March 23: 7:45 AM - 7:00 PM
These free shuttles have been made available to lower the threshold for participation in Town Meeting and support engagement in the democratic process. The shuttle is free and available to anyone regardless of where you stand on the issues or how you choose to vote.
There will be four shuttles. They will start in staggered locations at 7:45 AM.
One shuttle at each of the following locations starting at:
7:45 AM — Lincoln Woods
7:45 AM — Flying Nuns
7:45 AM — Greenridge Condos
7:45 AM — Ryan Estate
If you follow the numbers in order on the map with your finger along the roads, you are following the route.
The shuttles hold 13 passengers each.
How it works:
If there are more than 13 people waiting at Ryan Estate, the shuttle will take as many passengers as it can, and then the remaining people can hop on the next shuttle that comes on the route. All four shuttles will continue to circle, picking up whoever is waiting in each of these locations.
If a shuttle fills, it will go straight to the school and drop everyone off instead of going to the next shuttle stop on the list—and then it will join the route again at stop #1 (Lincoln Woods) and proceed through the stops again.
After leaving Ryan Estate, if, instead, there is still room on a shuttle, it will go to Todd Pond Condos to pick up people, and then go to the school to drop off. From there, it will go to Lincoln Woods and start the loop over.
If you follow the numbers in order on the map with your finger along the roads, you are following the route (Stops 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, the school, and back to Stop 1).
While no one can’t predict traffic, the whole route (Stops, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, the school, and back to Stop 1) takes approximately 30 minutes when allowing for 5 minutes at each stop for people to get on and off. So a new shuttle should arrive roughly every 15 minutes or so. Please understand, however, that attendance at Town Meeting is predicted to be high, so there may be traffic congestion. Please be patient. The drivers will do their best!
